SOCIAL & COMMUNITY IMPACT :

OUR CAMPAIGN

FREE MENSTRUATION EDUCATION FOR EVERYONE

Lunacup has started “menstruation education” to encourage women to understand their bodies more fully and experience a healthy menstruation.

Every year, more than 3,000 women participate in the training.

Every woman will spend 2,100 days of their lives in menstruation, so it’s clear that menstruation is very much related to women’s daily lives.

However, how much do we know about menstruation?

For a very long time, and throughout the world’s cultures, menstruation was regarded with disgust and disapproval. Through a combination of religious dogma, cultural customs, and male-centered social systems, menstruation has never been considered to be central to women’s health. And yet, 80% of women suffer from period pain, and 10~15% are unable to function in their everyday lives during this time. In this situation, menstruation disgust and a lack of education intensifies the overwhelming discomfort.

Lunacup has started “menstruation education” to encourage women to understand their bodies more fully and experience a healthy menstruation.

Every year, more than 3,000 women participate in the training.

Lunacup will expand “menstruation education” for women’s health and healthy menstruation periods.

WHAT IS

A MENSTRUAL CUP?

A menstrual cup is a small bell shaped cup that is inserted into your body to gather menstrual blood.

Menstrual cups were invented by Leona Chalmers, an actress, in America in 1937. The very first menstrual cup was made of latex rubber. Various materials such as latex rubber, medical silicone, synthetic latex, and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) are used. The safest material for the human body is medical grade silicone.

A menstrual cup is to be reused after washing with water or sterilizing in boiling water. You can reuse Lunacup for up to 2 to 5 years after purchase, depending on how you manage it.

Since mass production started in 1990, menstrual cups have been appreciated by women in Europe and America who care about health and the environment. It is becoming more popular among the younger generation who care these issues.
